Together with my wife and twinsoul Kristien De Winter we are Kristalan.
It started in the US working with Mark Williams, Don Dixon and Jim Brock in Mitch Easter's recording studio The Fidelitorium packed with vintage gear. We went to Nashville Ocean Way studio's and we also worked at the Reflections recording studio in North Carolina.
From that moment on we recorded 10 Kristalan CD's.
All our music & lyrics are written and arranged by Alain Smits & Kristien De Winter.
Kristalan is all about opening the inner senses, in fact it is very cinematic music.

WE LIVE IN KONTICH / BELGIUM. - HOWEVER THE WORLD IS OUR PLAYGROUND.
In the studio we use on-line servers and together with Protools 12HD we can use cloud.
So we can link with a network of artists, producers, mixers around the world.
We are always interested in working together with other artists.
